The premise of Friend of the Jolly Devil without spoilers.
A woodsman rescues an abandoned child, raising him as his son. When the boy turns ten, the woodsman suddenly goes blind. Determined to restore his father's sight, the child follows a mysterious summons to the Spirit of Darkness.
