In a poignant tale of self-discovery and familial connection, troubled teenager Alyssa (played by Carly Schroeder](/actor/carly-schroeder)) finds herself navigating a complex new life when she moves in with her estranged father, Hawk, a dedicated dolphin researcher portrayed by Adrian Dunbar, in the stunning Bahamas. A year after her mother’s tragic death, Alyssa feels lost and, compounded by her recent suspension from school for smoking, she is emotionally adrift. Her arrival on the island occurs simultaneously with escalating tensions between Hawk and local politicians, who are embroiled in disputes over the potential economic gains of increasing tourism.
