Nilesh Rastogi Abhay Deol misses his last local train at 1:40 am at Kurla Station, and a damsel in distress named Madhu Neha Dhupia also wants to reach Vikhroli. With auto rickshaws on strike after a bomb blast earlier in the day at Ghatkopar, the pair are forced to walk to the next rickshaw stand, trading wary glances and shared frustration as they navigate a night that already feels off-kilter.

Nilesh, hoping for luck to swing their way, stops at a local pub where curiosity and desire pull him toward a drink or two in Madhu’s company. There, he reconnects with an old friend, Pat Amit Mistry, who has apparently earned a fortune in a year through gambling. Pat’s confidence is magnetic, and he invites Nilesh to join him in the inner chambers to test their luck against high rollers. Madhu’s persuasive insistence nudges Nilesh toward taking the risk, and soon he finds himself swept into a high-stakes game.

The night takes a darker turn when Pat, taking control of their turn, loses the winnings to Ponappa Vinay Apte, a ruthless underworld figure who cheats his way to power and wealth. Meanwhile, in a restroom, Nilesh stumbles upon a harrowing scene: Madhu appears to be being forced upon by Nazeer Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a drug addict. When Nazeer attacks in a panic, he slips and dies, and the truth about Madhu’s situation deepens the night’s danger.

The fallout reveals that Nazeer is Ponappa’s younger brother, and Madhu is actually Mala, a prostitute with a complicated past. As Ponappa braces for retribution, Inspector Malvankar Ashok Samarth and his havaldars crash in during a raid. Ponappa tries to buy their silence by offering money to kill Nilesh and Madhu and turn Pat into a witness. The tension escalates as the raid spirals into violence, Pat’s taunts toward the inspector end in a fatal shot, and Nilesh and Madhu narrowly escape before being recaptured.

Desperation pushes Madhu to strike a bargain with the inspector, offering more money to spare their lives, and they head to Dharavi to meet Habiba Snehal Dabi, a powerful madame who can supply the needed funds. In a parallel thread, Ponappa’s men assemble a ransom of 2.5 crore to free a rich man’s child, only to be intercepted by Rafique Veerendra Saxena and Chakli from a rival gang, who kill the men and seize the money.

Habiba then guides the group to Mangesh Chilkey Deepak Shirke, a rival of Ponappa, who agrees to pay Inspector Malvankar to spare Nilesh and Madhu. The plot thickens as it’s revealed that Habiba has effectively handed Nilesh over to Mangesh Chilkey, who intends to sodomize him. In a tense turn, Madhu calls Ponappa and exposes the missing 2.5 crores, manipulating the villains into a final confrontation. A furious shootout erupts, and everyone except Nilesh dies, leaving him to seize the 2.5 crores and catch the first morning train at 4:10.

A week later, Nilesh arrives in an expensive car and discovers Madhu soliciting once again at 1:40 outside Kurla station. The two leave together, a night’s peril behind them, but the road ahead remains uncertain, shaping their fragile, uneasy partnership against a backdrop of crime, guilt, and survival.
