On a quiet night, a young girl struggling to sleep asks her father for a bedtime story, and, after a moment of hesitation, he unfolds a vivid tale about a fly named Nani. Nani is a spirited young man in Hyderabad who makes a living by preparing fireworks, and he keeps a hopeful heart focused on one thing: his neighbor Bindhu, a micro artist who runs an NGO and quietly dreams of a better world. Bindhu, in turn, harbors her own feelings for him, though she rarely shows them, and the two drift closer in small, meaningful moments that speak louder than words.

Enter Sudeep, a powerful industrialist who is drawn to Bindhu and tries to win her affection with money and influence. He donates a substantial sum—₹15 lakh—and begins to court her, yet Bindhu remains largely immune to his advances. As days pass, Sudeep recognizes a rival in Nani and grows obsessed with removing him from the equation. In a pivotal moment of shared inspiration, Nani helps Bindhu complete a delicate piece of micro art—a heart-shaped locket carved from a pencil—an act that deepens Bindhu’s admiration for Nani. But the night takes a brutal turn when Sudeep, driven by desire and insecurity, abducts and strangles Nani, making the death look like an accident. Before he dies, Nani utters a curse, vowing that if Sudeep ever harms Bindhu again, revenge will be Nani’s.

The tragedy lands like a weight on Bindhu’s heart. Unaware of the grim truth, she phones Nani to confess her love, and that final, tender moment becomes the last voice she hears from him. Sudeep departs with his men, but the story doesn’t end there. Nani is reborn—not as a man, but as a housefly—and the memory of his former life flickers back to life only in fits and starts. The insect’s curiosity becomes a weapon as it encounters Sudeep and Bindhu again, and the fly’s presence nudges the two toward a shared mission: to bring Sudeep down.

As the fly lingers, Sudeep’s ambitions are derailed by a string of strange disruptions. A dramatic public moment—writ on the windshield in the stoic glare of a car’s glass—reads, in a chilling echo of Nani’s vow: > I will kill you. The revelations unfold with the fly acting as a conduit between the past and present, and soon Bindhu recognizes the strange force she’s faced with is none other than Nani, guiding her toward justice. The pair ally against Sudeep, whose personal and professional life begins to unravel under the weight of this unseen rival.

A sorcerer named Tantra explains the old truth to Sudeep: the fly is Nani, driven by a burning hunger for revenge. Terrified, Sudeep arranges to challenge the threat at its source, but the fly slips away in a burst of sparks and smoke during a tense confrontation at home. Tantra is killed in an accident, and Sudeep’s world grows darker as his own smoke-filled collapse leaves him unconscious. Believing Sudeep may already be dead, Bindhu and Nani’s connection deepens, and they press the assault, with the mission expanding from personal vengeance to systemic ruin.

In a desperate bid to protect his empire, Sudeep kills Adithya, his own business partner, hoping to cash in a colossal insurance policy of ₹700 crore and shield his investors from consequences. He interrogates Bindhu, dragging her into a perilous showdown that finally reveals the truth of Nani’s return. Nani’s loyalty to Bindhu is tested as the two clash, and the fly injures Sudeep with a needle before a fatal blow ends Nani’s life. In a final, audacious gambit, Nani coats himself with gunpowder and leaps into a blazing match, diving into a cannon loaded with a steel ball. The cannon fires, tearing through Sudeep’s chest and striking an oxygen cylinder, triggering a fiery explosion that consumes the villain’s home and life.

Grief-stricken, Bindhu keeps a physical token of Nani—a wing she makes into an amulet—and carries it as a talisman through the days that follow. Then, in a last, hopeful twist, Nani, reborn again, returns as a honeybee to protect Bindhu from a lecherous eve teaser, signaling that his vigil and love endure beyond death. The tale’s narration, voiced by the legendary S. S. Rajamouli, threads the story through its mythic cadence, while Chinmayi Sripaada’s voice lends a poignant texture to Bindhu’s presence in the world. The credits close with a reflective epilogue about a repentant drunken thief who overhears Bindhu’s loving speech and finds a path toward redemption, a tiny hinge of mercy that echoes the film’s larger message.

If you’re drawn to fables that blend romance, revenge, and the improbable, this layered story unfolds with warmth, humor, and a quiet reverence for the bonds that endure beyond death.
