In 1993, a gang war escalated in Chinatown, leading to a series of brutal killings orchestrated by Khoka, a troubled and drug-addicted gang leader who was merely a teenager at the time. His first victim was Rumi, a rival gang member who faced a horrific attack where Khoka’s knife pierced his abdomen; as a gruesome mark of his crime, gang member Kalu was compelled to etch Khoka’s name onto the man’s forehead. The violence did not stop there, as two more victims fell prey to Khoka’s campaign: an unnamed police informer who had his throat severed with a razor, and a police officer who met his end with a cleaver, the same weapon used to engrave Khoka’s name. Khoka was ultimately apprehended by Inspector Pranab Roy Chowdhury, the elder brother of Probir Roy Chowdhury, setting the stage for a chilling saga of crime that would reverberate for decades.

Fast forward to 2019, the haunting shadow of Probir’s suicide continues to torment Abhijit Pakrashi, whose task, assigned by Commissioner Dibakar Bose and his ally Debu, is to recapture the now-released Khoka, who recently murdered a gang rival named Haroo in a manner reminiscent of his earlier crimes. Amrita, Abhijit’s wife, is an emotional anchor amid rising tensions, though their relationship begins to fray as Abhijit grapples with suspicions of her fidelity with fellow officer Shurjo Sinha. As the investigation unfolds, Abhijit partners with Rajat Chakrabarty and finds himself edging closer to a divorce, caught in a web of conflict, doubt, and the specter of Khoka’s reign of terror.

Abhijit believes that Khoka’s actions were less about being a serial killer and more about instilling fear in his adversaries and law enforcement. The true motive behind the killings remains shrouded in mystery, especially concerning the symbolic carvings on the victims’ foreheads. Amidst personal turmoil, Abhijit makes the decision to live with Rajat and Rajat’s girlfriend, Ankita, and uncovers unsettling connections through old footage from TV Bangla, leading him to a character named Gora—now known as Jimmy—who seems intertwined with past events at each murder scene but denies any recollection of Khoka.

As Abhijit delves deeper, another murder occurs, echoing Khoka’s old methods. In a moment of reconciliation, Abhijit and Amrita express regret for neglecting one another, hoping to restore their relationship. However, tragedy strikes when Rajat, lured by a voice impersonating Abhijit’s, falls victim to Khoka’s brutality, causing Ankita to spiral into madness. Following this heart-wrenching event, Abhijit resolves to capture Khoka alone, directing his wrath toward Jimmy, forcing him into a confrontation with Khoka at an abandoned mill, setting the stage for a shocking climax.

In a surreal twist, during their encounter, it is revealed that the person Abhijit confronts is not Khoka but Paltan, who had been a wrongly imprisoned figure. The plot thickens as it becomes evident that the true Khoka is none other than Abhijit himself, who endured severe trauma while in police custody, leading to a false identity and a fabricated past. As the narrative unfolds, it is displayed through poignant flashbacks that Abhijit’s memories were suppressed, allowing him to live a normal life under a new identity following police misconduct.

Paltan had sought not only to remind Khoka of their past but also wished to rekindle their lost bond, leading to an emotional outpouring between the two. Yet, in a gut-wrenching turn of events, Abhijit guns down Paltan, severing the last thread to his true identity. At the core of this narrative is the ultimate irony: Khoka had awakened from an amnesic state long before and had concealed his memories to escape imprisonment while stepping into the role of an upstanding police officer.

As the movie concludes, the viewer is left with a haunting understanding of duality and betrayal, as Abhijit, now aware of the dark intricacies of his past, orders his favorite food from a fast food stall. With a loaded one-rupee coin from the deceased Paltan in hand, Abhijit casts it into the sky, smirking at the audience, symbolizing his release from the shackles of his dark legacy.
