Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound 1993

A wealthy family hosts an extravagant, galaxy-spanning martial arts tournament on Earth, turning the arena into a spectacle where fighters from across the cosmos converge to test their skills. The lineup features Gohan [Masako Nozawa], Piccolo [Toshio Furukawa], Future Trunks [Takeshi Kusao], Tien Shinhan [Hirotaka Suzuoki], Yamcha, and Krillin [Mayumi Tanaka], all eager to prove themselves while the crowd buzzes with anticipation. The host’s concern grows as the contestants prove more capable than expected, especially Mr. Satan, who has to face the fact that the competition isn’t merely a show.

In the semifinals, Future Trunks defeats Tien Shinhan, and Piccolo, irked by the lack of a real challenge, forfeits his bout against Krillin. The three finalists—Gohan, Trunks, and Krillin—advance to the finals, each meeting a different alien opponent as the promoter unveils the twist: the “aliens” aren’t the staged arrivals he recruited, but actual intergalactic invaders.

Trunks is matched against a sword-wielding alien named Kogu, Krillin falls to the female Zangya, and Gohan confronts the mysterious Bujin, while another contestant, Doskoi, is killed by the minion Bido. Meanwhile, Mr. Satan, who had been complaining of stomach troubles to avoid fighting, is accidentally swept into a transportation pod and deposited onto the battlefield.

Trunks is taken aback by his opponent’s ruthlessness and must transform into a Super Saiyan to prevail. He is then struck down by an unseen assailant just as Gohan discovers that Trunks and Krillin have been incapacitated. Bojack arrives with plans to conquer the universe, while Tien and Yamcha rush to join the fray but are swiftly overwhelmed by Bojack’s minions. Gohan fights on, pressing the onslaught as Bojack looks on with cruel amusement. In the Other World, Goku [Masako Nozawa] and King Kai watch the battle, and King Kai explains Bojack’s backstory: centuries earlier the galactic warlord had been sealed inside a star by all four Kais, but Cell’s explosion released him.

Gohan struggles against the trio of minions and is nearly killed until Piccolo steps in to shield him. Piccolo takes on Bojack but is quickly defeated. Trunks, trying to aid, is paralyzed by Bujin’s energy-absorption trick and nearly impaled by Bido, until Vegeta [Ryo Horikawa] arrives to turn the tide. Bojack pummels Vegeta and drives the others deeper into exhaustion, leaving Gohan to fight Bojack alone while the minions keep up the pressure. Bojack’s assault nearly overwhelms him until an unexpected distraction arrives: Mr. Satan’s transport pod streaks toward the battlefield.

Goku makes an audacious move—using instant transmission to join the fight and strike Bojack before he can finish Gohan. After some cheering encouragement from his father, Gohan refuses to quit and taps into a renewed resolve, transforming into his Super Saiyan 2 form. With the transformation, Gohan shrugs off the minions’ energy-absorption and defeats Bido and Bujin, while Zangya is slain when Bojack blasts her toward Gohan. Bojack is finally impaled by Gohan’s fist, and when he powers up a colossal energy beam, Gohan answers with a decisive Kamehameha, the beams colliding as Bojack is killed. Exhausted but victorious, Gohan falls back in relief as Goku praises his son from the Other World.

After the adrenaline fades, the group laughs at the hospital news declaring that Mr. Satan is the one who defeated the alien intruders. On the rooftop, Vegeta [Ryo Horikawa] and Piccolo sit together, clearly unimpressed by the public celebration, their cool detachment a quiet counterpoint to the day’s explosive turn of events.
