Recently divorced Yoo-lim starts a new chapter at home with her only daughter, Eun-ah, and the two navigate a delicate peace in their everyday life. Eun-ah, now at a new school, faces constant taunting and isolation from peers, even as she quietly harbors a crush on a classmate named Jo-han. The fragility of this balance is shattered when Jo-han and his friends brutally assault Eun-ah, leaving her world shattered and her mother desperate for justice. Despite Yoo-lim’s efforts to pursue accountability, the legal system offers little relief—the perpetrators, being minors, receive only token punishment, leaving Yoo-lim feeling both unheard and furious.

The aftermath grows darker as Eun-ah becomes the target of threats. The attackers send video footage of the rape and issue a chilling demand: they will post it publicly unless Yoo-lim complies with their coercive demands. The weight of the trauma is overwhelming, and Eun-ah’s spirit weakens under the pressure and fear. The cycle of violence intensifies when Eun-ah is subjected to a second, even more brutal assault, and Yoo-lim watches helplessly as her daughter’s resilience erodes.

Grief, rage, and a sense of injustice push Yoo-lim toward a path of revenge. She discovers a cake that carries Eun-ah’s suicide note—“don’t cry mommy”—along with the video footage of the assaults, a chilling combination that hardens Yoo-lim’s resolve. The note and the evidence become a catalyst for her decision to dismantle the lives of those who harmed Eun-ah, no matter the cost. In a raw bid to reclaim a sense of power, she initially targets Jo-han, only to learn that his claim about a friend’s involvement was not the whole truth. In a deliberate and brutal confrontation, she ends up killing two individuals who Jo-han had named.

As the pieces fall into place, Yoo-lim comes to realize that Jo-han was at the center of the entire operation, orchestrating the nightmare that befell Eun-ah. Believing she can confront him directly, she enters Jo-han’s school with intent to kill him. The moment escalates rapidly when a police detective, Oh, intervenes in the confrontation, stopping Yoo-lim from taking the law into her own hands. The standoff ends with Yoo-lim forced to back away, and in a tragic turn of events, she is shot by the detective while Jo-han sustains fatal wounds from his own injuries.

The film closes with a stark, sobering epilogue: the credits call attention to numerous underage sexual assault cases and advocate for the criminal prosecution of sexual offenders, regardless of age. The ending lingers as a moral indictment of how society handles abuse, prompting viewers to reflect on the systems that failed Eun-ah and the brutal consequences borne by those left to cope with unimaginable trauma.
