Dirty God 2019

A young woman Jade [Vicky Knight] returns home from the hospital after treatment for severe burns. Her toddler Rae [Eliza Brady-Girard] is frightened by her scarred face, making their reunion emotionally delicate and awkward. Jade finds support from her mother Lisa and a close circle of friends, but slipping back into her former clubbing lifestyle feels out of reach.

Realizing that full facial reconstruction may never be fully possible, Jade seeks a surgeon in Morocco to explore options for improvement. With her mother unable to lend money, she takes a dead-end job at a call center, where she befriends Flavia [Dana Marineci], another single mother who understands the rocky path she’s on. Jade confides in Flavia that the burns were caused during a breakup when Rae’s father attacked her, a truth that deepens her sense of vulnerability but also her need for resilience.

Jade’s world begins to crack further as she discovers her mother has allowed Rae to spend time with Rae’s paternal grandmother, stirring tension and fear about how Rae will be raised. A shock arrives when a video showing Jade in a compromising moment leaks at work, threatening her career and dignity and forcing her to confront the price of exposure.

Desperate for any chance at real change, Jade steals the necessary money from her mother and travels to Morocco with her best friend Shami [Rebecca Stone]. Shami brings along her boyfriend Naz [Bluey Robinson], with whom Jade had previously shared a flirtatious spark. In the Moroccan trip, the trio’s dynamic becomes complicated: Naz and Jade nearly cross a line, but Shami’s presence interrupts them, creating a charged triangle that Jade must navigate.

Back home, Jade learns the harsh truth that the plastic surgery she paid for is a scam, a crippling setback that tests her resolve. Naz later confesses that he has genuine feelings for her, but Jade chooses to stand by the delicate balance of friendship with Shami and gently pushes him away. In the aftermath, Jade finds a steadier footing: she wins an Employee of the Month award at the call center and begins a cautious reconciliation with her mother, signaling a step toward healing and a tentative future.
