Following his release from prison, French chef Jacques is determined to forge a new life and secure a position working for the renowned British chef, Victor Ellwood. Jacques believes Victor may be his father, due to an affair with his mother. The demanding job proves challenging, but Jacques finds solace in the company of a young woman living nearby. As he falls for her, he discovers she suffers from a severe eating disorder that affects her ability to eat anything, leading him to question if their connection can truly overcome such a profound obstacle.
