In a chilling opening, Marie Trintignant as The Mother reads Little Red Riding Hood to her son, only to be killed before his eyes.

Later, five young actors, among them Clotilde Courau as Sophie, are invited to the castle of Baron Axel de Fersen, portrayed by François Berléand, to perform a modernized stage adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood.

They are greeted by the gamekeeper Denis Lavant as Stephane, the wheelchair-bound Baron Axel de Fersen, and his deaf son Thibault Truffert as Nicolas.

After dinner, their host retires for the night as the five friends linger with drinks and music, but soon discover that the Baron has vanished, leaving behind only a dark stain of blood on the floor.

The party mood irks Sophie, who feels their behavior is disrespectful and oblivious to the lurking danger around them.

Sophie wants to leave the strange castle, but her friends argue that she could easily get lost in the surrounding woods, so they stay and press on with the night’s revelry.

Mathilde Maud Buquet is stabbed in the shower by a man disguised as a wolf, and later Jeanne Alexia Stresi is killed, leaving the group shaken and more mistrustful of everyone around them.

The remaining three survivors begin to panic and search for Stephane, whom they increasingly suspect might be the killer.

When Wilfried Vincent Lecœur is killed, Sophie accuses Mathieu Clément Sibony of being the murderer, heightening the fear and suspicion that grips the castle.

This accusation strains the fragile alliance among them, and the trio finally confronts the figure of the wolf—the wolf being Axel de Fersen. Sophie manages to kill Axel de Fersen and flees the castle with Mathieu and Nicolas.
