Set in 1964 Berlin, shortly after the erection of the dividing wall, former prisoner Bruno is recruited by the East German secret service to carry out a covert mission in the West. Upon crossing the border he surrenders to the police, claiming his orders involve a kidnapping yet he does not know the target. Forced to maintain his cover, Bruno discovers the eastern agents distrust him and are playing a double‑cross, leaving him entangled in a perilous game of deception.
