Mars was intended to be transformed into a habitable planet through terraforming, a process involving melting the polar ice caps and gradually adding vital gases to the atmosphere. However, the terraforming process went awry, resulting in the entire planet being submerged in water. As a result, the remnants of humanity now live on floating islands and within submarines, struggling to survive in this aquatic world.
