Stella, a widow, decides to marry Anton four years after her husband’s death, hoping this new union will give her son Paolo a sense of family. Anton, once her great love, had been the one she longed for before her parents pressed her into a life with Danilo. The wedding is rocked by a brutal incident: at the ceremony, Milagros, Anton’s mother, is left paralyzed and unable to speak after an unseen force strikes, and she dies soon after.
Moving into Anton’s home, Stella begins to experience a series of unsettling hauntings that threaten her and her son. The disturbances intensify, and Stella grows convinced that her late husband is somehow part of the disturbances, prompting her to try to placate a spirit not fully understood. Yet the hauntings do not subside; they grow stronger and more invasive with each passing night.
A clairvoyant housekeeper named Olga joins Stella, and together they uncover the true source of the terror: the ghost of Lorna, Anton’s ex-girlfriend who was accidentally killed by Anton and buried in a forest. As the truth emerges, the haunting shifts from a vague menace to a direct attack, with Lorna launching a menacing campaign against Stella’s household and even taking Olga’s life.
Overwhelmed by guilt, Anton sets out to confront Lorna at her gravesite, with Stella deciding to follow him. What follows is a bitter confrontation where Lorna ends Anton’s life, only to be faced by Stella’s resolve and the appearance of Anton’s ghost offering a kind of quiet solace. The battle between living memory and lingering vengeance reaches its emotional apex as Stella defeats the ghost, and the constellation of guilt and forgiveness gently lingers in the wake of their confrontation.
In the aftermath, Stella and Paolo leave Anton’s house, stepping into an uncertain future. Yet the final image hints at lingering dread: a black liquid oozes from the back of the taxi, a sign that some shadows may travel with them beyond the doors of the home they’ve left behind. The story remains a study in how grief, memory, and unresolved violence can haunt a family long after the living and the dead have faced their fates.
