Spoilers ahead

Crow, Karolina Ostrozna, a ten-year-old girl, lives with her mother in a neglected tenement house in a town on the coast. She is not welcomed by her peers, and her mother, Małgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik, offers little tenderness. In a physical education lesson, she arrives without the required costume, and the teacher, Anna Prucnal, makes her strip down to her underwear and begins the exercises, provoking laughter from the other kids. The ridiculed child seems to unleash a raw, inward curse directed at her teacher.
