What Is Codine About?
The premise of Codine without spoilers.
After ten years in prison for killing a friend, Codine returns to his miserly mother in a Bucharest slum, surviving by brute force. A boy idolizes him, seeing the harsh economic and social injustices. When Codine murders a betrayer, his paranoid mother fearing loss of her cash plots to kill him, shocking the child with the cruelty of adult life.
