A lonely twentysomething named Becky Green becomes obsessed with the suicide of her estranged childhood friend Chloe. Becky then begins an affair with Chloe’s widowed husband, Elliot, a relationship that sparks disapproval within the circle, including from Elliot’s mother. As the political arc unfolds, Elliot decides to run for election, and Becky and Livia become involved in his campaign alongside Elliot’s friend Nish, blending personal intrigue with public ambition.
