Asian Hawk leads a skilled mercenary team on a global quest to recover twelve bronze animal heads, looted from the Old Summer Palace in Beijing during the Second Opium War in 1860. The team travels across five continents, facing numerous challenges as they pursue the stolen artifacts. Along the way, Hawk is aided by a resourceful Chinese student and a Parisian woman, as he stops at nothing to complete the dangerous mission and return the treasures to their rightful place.
