Some time after Alex Stenstrøm frames Phillip Eppermint for drug possession, he becomes a vigilant protector of his Albertslund neighborhood in Copenhagen, taking on crimes and shady dealings with a sense of justice that sometimes blinds him to the consequences for those closest to him. His stepfather John rides a breakthrough at work, developing a digestion app that nets him 150,000 kroner, and he uses the windfall to plan a family vacation and to let everyone vote on the destination. The mood at home is a mix of pride and pressure, as John’s success briefly shifts the balance of their lives, and Sirena, Alex’s mother, tries to keep the peace while supporting her son.

Alex drifts a bit away from his girlfriend Jessica, Emma Sehested Høeg as she moves through her own social world. When he visits, she confides that she’s heading to a party with older kids. At the same time, he overhears Jessica’s friends Tina and Gina chatting about a boy they call a “bad boy” named Marco, and the label gnaws at Alex, stirring a sense that his own identity and actions may not measure up to what others expect of him. The friction between the idea of a “bad boy” and the reality of who Alex is becomes a quiet shadow over their relationship, a tension that threads through the next chapters.

Then a strange turn of fate arrives: a lightning bolt strikes a hedgehog, and the creature is possessed by the spirit of Taiko Nakamura, a figure who seems to know the history of their mission and its flaws. Nakamura’s return is not entirely welcome, but he arrives with a blunt assessment: their mission has been haunted by negative forces and needs a recalibration. He explains, in his own forceful way, that Phillip Eppermint is due for release from a prison in Thailand the following week because the evidence against him has been undermined by a corrupt lawyer who manipulated a crucial witness. This revelation jolts Alex into action, and he convinces his mother, Sirena, to push for Thailand as the vacation destination while also making the most of a chance to give Nakamura a better body for his ninja persona. Thailand wins the vote, beating out Spain and disappointing Alex’s stepbrother Sean, who had hoped for a European getaway. Nakamura, now inhabiting a newly made ninja doll body, is initially furious about the feminine appearance of the shell, and the tension between appearance and power becomes a running thread in the story.

In Bangkok, the plan comes into motion as Alex and the Ninja slip away from the others and head toward Eppermint’s world. They shadow Eppermint, Jimmy, and their circle to a cafe, where Eppermint and Jimmy discuss meeting later that night at the Lucky Fucky Club, a strip club Jimmy owns, to receive the list of children and their locations. Alex’s ally Odysseus brings troubling news: Jessica has been seeing someone else, Marco, which stings even as it drives Alex to push forward with the mission.

That night, the family dines at a restaurant across from the club, and Alex quietly slips off to carry on with the plan. Jessica calls and ends things, saying he isn’t the “bad boy” she was looking for, a moment that would sting most people but for Alex becomes a turning point toward self-acceptance. Inside the club, Jimmy hands Eppermint the coveted list; Eppermint recognizes Alex from the cafe and makes his move to grab the list. Nakamura abandons Alex to retrieve the list, but his efforts fall short. The moment Alex is about to be tortured, his Uncle Stewart Stardust, who is on shore leave, arrives just in time to save him. Alex returns to the family with Stewart in tow, much to John’s dismay, as the family clings to one another amid the chaos.

The first name on the list is Honey Bee, a girl who lives on an island near Bangkok called Koh Ho-Ann. Alex uses Honey Bee’s name as a beacon to steer John away from Stewart and to keep the family moving toward safety. The next morning, the family boards a ferry to Koh Ho-Ann, but Stewart decides to tag along, having learned there was one final ticket left. This detour also appears to complicate Eppermint’s ability to reach the island, adding another layer of risk to the mission.

On Koh Ho-Ann, Alex searches for Honey Bee but comes up empty-handed. In the island’s rugged landscape, he meets Jasper, the diving center owner who acts as Eppermint’s interpreter and who witnessed Quang’s murder. Jasper arranges to meet again once Honey Bee’s location is found, and their fragile arrangement becomes a potential route to the truth. Back at his cabin, Alex and Nakamura are surprised when Sean approaches, having heard the commotion. Rather than snitch, Sean offers his help, and he joins the group on their next critical step.

At the diving center, Eppermint, Jimmy, and Jasper ambush the team. A trap is sprung: a gas-filled boiler threatens to blow the center, leaving everyone scrambling to escape. Sean arrives in time to pull the group to safety as the building begins to cave in. Eppermint and Jimmy race toward the restaurant where Honey Bee is said to live, and a high-tension chase follows on a scooter. Honey Bee manages to vanish into a shed filled with cobras, and Alex and Eppermint pursue. Sean and Nakamura handle Jimmy, allowing Alex to press on with Eppermint and the Cobra-filled terrain as their backdrop.

Inside the shed, Eppermint corners Alex and Honey Bee. Honey Bee’s quick thinking and Robert-like calm help diffuse the moment, while Sean’s intervention buys enough time for the group to regain their footing. Eppermint makes a final, lethal push, only to be thwarted when Honey Bee and her quick reflexes force him into a dangerous encounter with the shed’s cobra den. The struggle ends with Eppermint’s apparent demise as he falls into a cobra-filled cage, though the truth about his fate only becomes clear later.

The web of events is exposed when Sean reveals that he live-streamed Alex’s confrontation with Eppermint, and Jessica—watching the video—recognizes Alex’s courage and, in a turn of self-reflection, hurls a piercing critique back at their past relationship, ultimately prompting Alex to realize that there is nothing inherently wrong with who he is. He ends things with Jessica and embraces his identity as a defender who acts on his instincts rather than on someone else’s expectations.

The following day, the family is celebrated with a dinner that honors their bravery in saving Honey Bee. Nakamura, who has formed a close bond with Alex, hasn’t fully relinquished the ninja doll body yet, but the two have grown into a genuine partnership. In a final act of resolve and camaraderie, Alex grants Nakamura a brand-new, slick-looking ninja doll body to match his growing confidence and power, and Nakamura makes it clear that he’s ready to stand with Alex against any future danger. The adventure closes on a note of renewed purpose, with both of them prepared to face whatever challenges lie ahead, trusting in their unusual alliance and the strength they’ve discovered in themselves.
