Yet, fate has other plans, as a devout paramedic named Florio Ferrente revives Charlie in an ambulance, condemning him to continue living.

Five years have elapsed since that fateful day, and Charlie has grown into a young man, now employed at the Marblehead cemetery. Every dusk, he clandestinely visits a nearby forest, where he rekindles his bond with Sam through playful interactions. Unbeknownst to others, Charlie possesses an extraordinary gift – the ability to perceive spirits. This peculiar talent proves invaluable in his profession as an undertaker, allowing him to converse with the restless departed.

In the quaint coastal town, Tess Carroll (yachtswoman) has long harbored a desire to circumnavigate the globe on her trusty vessel, the Querencia. A week before embarking on this grand adventure, Tess decides to test her boat’s mettle by deliberately navigating into a tempestuous storm, ignoring the warnings of her seasoned shipsman, Tink Weatherbee. The turbulent waters ensnare Tess, and her ship capsizes, leaving her precariously suspended upside down. As she dangles in mid-air, Tess finds herself transported to the local cemetery, where the memories of her late father beckon. It is here that she encounters Charlie, a familiar face from their high school days, who has been frequenting the gravesite to scatter trash can covers and chase away geese with his unorthodox methods.
