Calendar chronicles the intense, unwavering bond between a mother and her daughter. Thankam George, aka Thankamma, a college professor, Zarina Wahab was widowed at a young age and devoted herself to her daughter, Kochurani, Navya Nair, who is now a college student.

Kochurani is in love with Olikkara Sojappan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, a frequent guest at their home. When Thankam learns of their feelings, she initially objects to their union, fearing for Kochurani’s future. Yet she ultimately relents on one condition: Sojappan must not take Kochurani away from her and must stay close to the family. The couple becomes engaged, and the prospect of a wedding seems to offer a delicate balance between love and duty.

Tragedy disrupts this balance. In an accident, Sojappan dies, and Kochurani, who is three months pregnant, suffers a miscarriage. Three years pass, and Thankam and Kochurani move to a new place to rebuild their lives. Enter Roy Chacko, a young man connected to this circle through his mother, Annamma, Mallika Sukumaran, who wants him to marry soon. Annamma seeks help from Manjooran, Jagathy Sreekumar, a physician at Roy’s hospital and a relative of Thankam, hoping he can find a suitable bride for Roy.

When Thankam and Kochurani arrive at Manjooran’s circle, the plan shifts toward a marriage between Kochurani and Roy. The arrangement complicates the family dynamics: Kochurani, newly married to Roy, grows distant from Thankam in ways she hadn’t anticipated. Seeking to protect her daughter’s happiness, Thankam writes an anonymous letter to Roy, describing Kochurani’s past engagement and her miscarriage—a move that sparks tension and hurt between mother and daughter. Roy steps in to ease the strain, reminding Kochurani that her mother’s joy hinges on her well-being and that many misunderstandings may have colored their earlier expectations.

Gradually, Kochurani begins to understand the implications of her mother’s feelings, and she travels back to Thankam to bridge the rift. Yet when she arrives at Thankam’s home, she finds it empty. The search leads them to Thankam’s uncle’s house, where they finally reunite, only to face a heartbreaking truth: Thankam has passed away in her sleep, leaving Kochurani to cope with the loss and the ache of the years that passed between them.

In the end, the story lingers on themes of devotion, miscommunication, and the enduring bond between a mother and daughter, framed by a sequence of irreversible choices, hard-won reconciliations, and a quiet, poignant farewell.
