In August 1914, while Jean Mordant is abroad winning the World Wrestling Championship in Buenos Aires, his daughter Mimi suffers a brutal assault at the hands of German occupiers in Ostend. Consumed by a desire for vengeance, Jean joins the Armored Car Division with his coach, Victor, and his young nephew, Guido. Their armored vehicles prove ill-suited for the muddy terrain of Flanders, and the battalion is quickly sent to the Eastern Front.
