Spoilers ahead
The film masterfully encapsulates a fictional account set against the backdrop of events following the theatrical debut of The Blair Witch Project, a movie that reverberated through popular culture. In November 1999, the tranquil town of Burkittsville, Maryland—laden with its own rich history—became a magnet for fans and curious tourists seeking to dive into the chilling ambiance surrounding the film. At the heart of this chaos was a former psychiatric patient named Jeffrey Donovan, who developed an unhealthy obsession with the movie, taking it upon himself to guide a tour group to the film’s iconic filming locations.
