Blue Puppy 1976

From birth, a puppy with a pale blue coat stands out in a world that prefers the ordinary. This Blue Puppy Alisa Freyndlikh is rejected by almost everyone, and even the Grey Dogs keep their distance. The Black Cat Andrey Mironov is the only one who occasionally pretends to show interest, though his friendship seems to come with strings attached.

Then danger arrives in the form of a ruthless Pirate Mikhail Boyarskiy, who lands on the island and, with the Black Cat’s guidance, abducts the Blue Puppy. A Good Sailor Aleksandr Gradskiy, a figure who always helps those in trouble, hears of the kidnapping and sets out across the sea to rescue the pup and his new friend.

The chase leads to a perilous encounter: the Pirate attacks the Sailor’s ship with a sawfish, leaving the Sailor and the Puppy bound in shackles. The Pirate and the Black Cat celebrate their apparent victory with a song that celebrates their murky alliance, while the rescued pair must muster resilience and ingenuity to break free.

Drunkenness clouds the Pirate’s triumph, giving the Puppy a chance to free both himself and the Sailor. The Sailor then defeats the Pirate, and the two return to the island as heroes. No longer do the islanders avoid the Blue Puppy; he has found a real friend at last. The story carries a clear, heartwarming message: it’s not so awful to be different, as long as you have friends and the respect of your peers.
