Blue Lips 2018

The film begins with Kit, portrayed by Ana Coto, enjoying a fun roller skating session where she opens up to her friend Ebba, played by Tove Lo. Kit expresses her feelings of disappointment after discovering that her romantic interest has reunited with his ex-girlfriend, an incident she refers to as Bad Days. In an effort to distance themselves from their troubles, Kit and Ebba decide to head to Ebba’s aunt’s house, where they blast music, including Shivering Gold, in the car on their way.

Once at the house, they prepare for a party, helping each other get dressed to the track Stranger. The party itself is lively, filled with dancing and revelry epitomized by the song Disco Tits, during which Kit encounters Romy, played by Kera Armendariz, and shares an electric kiss with her in the bathroom. After the festivities, Kit and Ebba find themselves at a grocery store where they enjoy some carefree antics with the products, celebrating their friendship through playful moments.

Later, while lounging by the pool at their temporary residence, Kit and Ebba have a heartfelt discussion about relationships and the men in their lives, with the soundtrack of Struggle resonating in the air. In the pursuit of snacks, Kit goes to another grocery store to grab chips, where she meets Guy, played by Jafin Garvey. Their chemistry is instantaneous, leading to a flirty exchange, after which Kit invites him to the party they plan to attend later that evening.

As the evening unfolds, Ebba unwittingly meets Guy—having no idea who he is until Kit reveals his identity. Their connection blossoms as they enjoy each other’s company at the party. Meanwhile, Kit struggles with jealousy seeing the flirtation between Ebba and Guy, prompting her to leave the party upset, despite Ebba continuing to dance and bond with Guy, memorialized in the song Cool Girl.

In the aftermath, Ebba and Guy spend time at his home, indulging in tequila while sharing personal stories that deepen their connection, culminating in a kiss while strolling together, highlighted by the emotional tune Cycles. As the story winds down, Ebba arrives back home to find Kit, and they embrace, rekindling their friendship after the rocky events.

In a delightful post-credits scene, the film concludes with Ebba singing the rest of Cycles at the roller rink, leaving viewers with a sense of closure and the celebration of friendship and love amidst the ups and downs of life.
