What Is Blindness About?
The premise of Blindness without spoilers.
This film portrays a little-known episode in the life of Julia Brystiger, a Stalinist security police officer known as Bloody Luna due to her ruthless interrogation techniques. Set in the early 1960s, the story follows her arrival at a center for the blind near Warsaw. The center was frequently visited by Cardinal Wyszyński, whose imprisonment Brystiger had overseen. During a tense confrontation, Brystiger publicly condemns communist ideology, seeks forgiveness for her past actions, and asks for spiritual guidance.
