Bird Of The Orient (1986): Cast

The young prosecutor, played by Nour El‑Sherif, follows the footsteps of Tawfiq al‑Hakim’s character from the novel “The Bird of the East.” He travels to Paris and discovers that 1980s Paris is very different from the 1920s setting of the book. He meets a girl who works beside a cinema, yet despite the parallel events he ends a cherished relationship linked to a colleague. Later he undergoes a similar arc from “Diary of Vice in the Countryside,” working in a village while investigating a murder.
