Kailash Nath, also known as Bhoothnath, re-enters the world of the afterlife, where his ghostly reputation is put to the test as he is mocked and questioned for his powers after failing to scare any children. The shame of that past failure weighs on him, and he looks for a path to redemption that might prove his worth once more. He eventually returns to India, hoping to reclaim his standing by haunting the living in a way that proves his usefulness. But the landscape has changed: the children he used to frighten have grown tougher—physically, mentally, and verbally—making his old tricks less effective than before. It’s in this tense climate that a perceptive boy named Akhrot sees Bhoothnath in his true, untamed form.
