Bhaskar Oru Rascal 2018

Bhaskar is a self-made business tycoon and single parent who inherits his wealth from his father, M. A. M. Rangasamy, a retired businessman. Despite his success in the textile and real estate industries, Bhaskar is known for his rowdyism, crude behavior, and crass attitude, which earn him the nickname “Rascal.” He has a son named Aakash, who studies with Shivani—a girl who admires Bhaskar’s strength and often treats him like a father figure because of his heroic stance.

The story begins with Bhaskar accompanying Aakash to a felicitation ceremony where the prominent actress Kalyani is the chief guest. A humorous mistake during the event causes the media to believe that Bhaskar is Kalyani’s romantic partner, leading to chaos. The incident attracts unwanted attention, and when Kalyani’s real love interest sees the rumors, he distances himself from her. In an attempt to clear the misunderstandings, Bhaskar confronts the love interest but gets insulted, which results in a physical altercation that is caught on camera by the press. This series of events thrusts Bhaskar into the media’s spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Nikesha Patel’s character, Anu — a single mother—initially has a negative impression of Bhaskar, although she appreciates the gentle side of her son Aakash. Meanwhile, Shivani, who admires Bhaskar’s boldness, faces teasing at school because of her father’s reputation. When Shivani defends Aakash from bullies, she gets into a scuffle, which leads her to be scolded by Anu, her mother. Bhaskar intervenes to resolve the situation, encouraging Shivani to be outspoken and assertive—advice that Anu does not agree with, leading to conflicts between them.

Anu shares her tragic backstory about her late husband Sanjay — played by Aftab Shivdasani — explaining how her aggressive nature once led her to confront thugs in Kolkata, which ultimately resulted in Sanjay being shot and killed while trying to protect her. She fears that Shivani might meet a similar tragic fate if she inherits her mother’s violent tendencies.

As the story progresses, Aakash and Shivani hatch plans to marry their parents, and they spend time together—Shivani with Bhaskar and Aakash with Anu. Despite Bhaskar showing interest in Anu, she remains reluctant, trying to keep her distance.

On Shivani’s birthday, a small celebration takes place with only Aakash and Bhaskar present. However, a startling guest arrives—Sanjay, played by Amala Paul — revealing she still harbors secrets about her past. She discloses that Sanjay has been missing after being shifted to the hospital when he was injured, and she later discovers he is actually a killer and sharpshooter involved in dangerous activities, including the theft of a crucial research hard disk containing locations of plutonium mines. She also reveals that Sanjay manipulated her, leading to her pregnancy, which resulted in her moving away from Kolkata to protect herself and Shivani.

In a dramatic turn, Anu accepts Rangasamy’s marriage proposal to Bhaskar to ensure her safety and that of Shivani. However, she later decides to move to Canada with Shivani to escape the danger posed by Sanjay, who is revealed to be involved in criminal activities. During a visit to Kolkata to retrieve an important hard disk from Sanjay’s locker, an attack occurs when Sanjay’s father kidnaps Aakash and Shivani, demanding the hard disk. A fierce confrontation ensues, where Bhaskar kills Sanjay and his father, saving everyone in the process.

Following these harrowing events, Anu and Shivani decide against leaving for Canada, instead choosing to stay with Bhaskar and Aakash. The story concludes with Bhaskar and Anu getting married, and a few months later, Anu is shown pregnant with Bhaskar’s child.
