Betty Boop runs the Bizzy Bee, a bustling city lunch wagon that draws crowds even though its menu has only one item: the simple, comforting wheat cakes. The secret to the wagon’s popularity isn’t the variety of food but the charm and sparkle of its owner, whose friendly smile and cheerful presence keep customers happy and coming back for more. The energy inside and around the wagon feels alive, almost like a small, bright theatre where food and fun collide.

A playful sequence kickstarts the chaos: Bimbo notices Betty and offers a rose, and in return she gives a heart. Bimbo chases the hopeful token with a net, and the heart lands back inside the wagon, sparking a lighthearted chase that spills into the day’s routine. Nearby, Koko the Clown asks for a hot bowl of soup, only to discover it’s as cold as ice, topped with a chilly surface. Betty lights a tiny fire to heat it, turning a simple request into a moment of improvised warmth and comic tension.

The scene then wideens with a recurring gag centered on a hippo man who repeatedly asks, “please pass the sugar,” his vanity and appetite growing as the joke expands. He demands more wheat cakes and storms into the wagon, shoving a bystander aside to get his fill. A sleeping creature behind a curtain in a cage peers out curiously, adding a touch of whimsy to the bustling chaos. As the hippo man’s hunger grows, the wheat cakes begin to spread beyond the wagon, slipping into the city streets and turning the entire neighborhood into a stage for this surreal appetite.

The Moon itself gets drawn into the whimsy, gulping down some of the golden cakes. As the baked supply goes on, the consequences become increasingly silly and exaggerated: the hippo man suddenly yelps in pain, and a quick glance suggests the cakes are waging a tiny wrestling match inside him, leaving him bloated and uncomfortable. The odd cascade continues as a few other figures squeeze out of the moment—one man twists into a pretzel in midair, another bear-like character exits the scene clutching his stomach, and even Koko appears momentarily affected by the overindulgence.

Soon more people tumble out of windows, staggering and circling as they cry out “Ow! Ow!” from overfull bellies. A nearby grill and the lunch wagon itself seem to protest the onslaught, both rocking with the strain of overindulgence. The Moon’s groan softens the night, and the stars respond by lifting him onto a stretcher. In the final, playful twist, a Star steps up to replace the Moon’s role, placing a lantern where the Moon once was and bringing the cartoon to a bright, whimsical close.
