Devanarayanan, a Kerala Brahmin priest who is the main breadwinner for a poor family, opens the film in a reflective flashback. He is deeply in love with Aswathy, but their union is blocked by her corrupt father, Govindan Nair, and he also finds himself at odds with the unscrupulous local businessman Arumukhan. The trouble worsens when Arumukhan and Govindan Nair collaborate with the city’s inspector, Inspector Chandrappan, to frame Devan for stealing the temple’s sacred thiruvabharana. The accusation shames him publicly, and the brutal beating he endures in front of his family and villagers only deepens their belief in his guilt. After the arrest, his father disowns him, and Devan is forced to leave his village, turning his attention to a harsher, more dangerous world beyond his homeland.

Fast forward to the present, Devanarayanan is living in Bombay with his loyal ally Kunjali and his daughter Sainaba, who runs a teashop to support their fragile existence. The city is terrorized by a brutal thug known as Martin, and Devan’s quiet life is thrown into chaos when Martin targets him and steals his precious necklace. The confrontation ends with Devan proving himself in a bare-knuckle fight, earning respect in the criminal underworld and drawing the attention of the aging crime lord Kareem.

Under Kareem’s wing, Devan becomes a trusted right hand as the elder crime boss has already suffered great losses in a long-ago gang war. Kareem’s own family life is complicated; his son, whom Sainaba loves, is bound to a different future, one that could fracture Kareem’s grip on his empire. Devan’s path crosses with Nirmala, a fellow member of Kareem’s gang, who becomes a source of healing as Devan begins to recover from the wounds of his past. The two soon fall in love, and Devan finally opens up about the humiliation of the theft charge he endured years earlier.

As the romance deepens, Kareem learns of his son’s relationship with Sainaba and reacts with anger, setting off a new, tense wave of confrontations. In a calculated move, Kareem orders his men to strike at Kunjali and Sainaba, prompting Devan to intervene. The power plays intensify when Nair, Kareem’s jealous secretary, betrays Devan by alerting the rival factions to his actions. A brutal fight ensues, and Nair flees with fear, while Kunjali lashes out at Sainaba after learning of her attachment to Kareem’s son. Devan’s protective stand rekindles his resolve to secure their future.

To avert more bloodshed, Devan confronts Kareem and explains why he fights for Kunjali and Sainaba’s happiness. In a surprising turn, Kareem agrees to let Sainaba marry his son, defusing the immediate storm. A party gathers in Kareem’s circle, alongside some city police officers, and for a moment it seems the underworld might be tamed by negotiation. But the fragile peace is shattered when Nair betrays Kareem to the police, igniting a fresh cycle of violence. The lovers’ hopes are crushed when Sainaba and Kareem’s son are killed during Holi by Majeed Khan, Nair’s men, and other henchmen. The tragedy pushes Kareem toward a more religious, reflective path, and the underworld begins to lose its former grip on him.

Driven by sorrow and revenge, Devan defeats the men who ordered the killings and removes Majeed Khan from the scene. This violent turn leads to his imprisonment for five years. On his release, he and Nirmala move back toward Kerala, where Devan’s father reacts with anger at his return and his mother urges him to leave. With the help of Sakhavu Karunan, a trusted political ally, and Nirmala, Devan rallies a faction of old acquaintances—Arumukhan, Govindan Nair, Inspector Chandrappan, Adv Radhakrishnan, and the corrupt temple priest—to demand a confession of innocence from those who framed him.

In a decisive shift, Devan forgives the people who wronged him and seeks to rebuild his life for Ashwathy’s sake, introducing her and Nirmala to one another as part of his vision for reconciliation. He dreams aloud of reclaiming a mansion from his past, imagining a future with Nirmala by his side and his mother’s blessing over the arrangement. Yet old wounds resurface when Sakhavu Karunan arrives with news of fresh threats, and Devan reveals there is no need for punishment—there is forgiveness. The plan to reassemble life in Kerala gains momentum as Devan invites his parents and sisters to join him in the mansion, a symbolic return to a life he once lost.

The peace is short-lived. When Devan discovers Nirmala has been taken hostage by Majeed Khan and Nair, the truth that both men survived his previous attempt on their lives becomes clear. He pays the ransom to secure her release, but the act ends in tragedy: Devan is shot, and in the brutal struggle that follows, he suffocates Nair and shoots Majeed Khan, killing him. Nirmala dies in the crossfire, leaving Devan devastated and speechless. The film closes on a note of ferocious resolve as Devan confronts a judge, his voice seething with the memory of the false charges that set this cycle of vengeance in motion.
