Set in the mythical Afghan kingdom of Baharistan, a benevolent Sultan Shammi Kapoor rules a land of peace and plenty. Yet a shadow falls when a vengeful Vazir Amrish Puri worships dark powers and eyes the throne, plotting to revive the relentless force of the Fauladi Shaitan and conquer the world. He commands his maids to strangle every newborn born to the royal line, sowing fear while scheming toward a tyrant’s rise.

A divine spark descends from the heavens into the Sultan’s womb, rendering the next newborn immune to the poison and strangulation. This Shehzada, named Ali, Amitabh Bachchan, is destined for a far greater fate, becoming the mysterious hero Ajooba.

Sultan and his wife Malika Ariadna Shengelaia celebrate the newborn’s survival, while the royal court magician Ameer Khan, known as Ameer Baba, Saeed Jaffrey returns from travels with a magical sword. The blade, proven sharp by a strike against a stone pillar, can be drawn only by a royal heir, offering a glimmer of hope against Vazir’s growing power.

But Vazir’s scheming is relentless. He overhears the royal discussion, betrays Ameer Baba, steals the Necklace of Immortality, and flings the venerable mage into a dungeon. He tries to murder the Sultan and his family, driving them to flee into the night. After a fierce struggle featuring magic carpets, storms, and ships, the rightful ruler vanishes, Malika is blinded, and the newborn is cast ashore.

A dolphin rescues the infant and carries him to a village where a blacksmith takes him in, raises him, and teaches him the arts of both heart and blade. This boy grows into Ajooba, the masked rider who operates in stark contrast to Vazir’s tyranny, acting in secret to defend the helpless from pillage and oppression.

The usurper Vazir, ever hungry for control, scorns Ameer Baba and labels his realm with a chilling shout of power—“Shaitan Zindabad.” He harnesses the power of the Fauladi Shaitan to unleash raids and devastating assaults on villages, while the land’s defenders mobilize under the banner of honor and courage.

The young hero’s plain life as Ali—an ordinary restaurateur by day and a fearless defender by night—belongs to a loyal companion, Hassan Rishi Kapoor. The duo foil Vazir’s caravans and raid his camps, their camaraderie tested as they juggle danger and loyalty. Ali falls for Rukhsana Dimple Kapadia, the daughter of Ameer Baba who has returned from Hind to rescue her imprisoned father. Hassan’s heart, meanwhile, belongs to Vazir’s captive Shehzadi Heena Bakhtawar Murad Khan, weaving romance into the resistance.

As Vazir’s power grows, he brazenly summons the Fauladi Shaitan for a full-scale invasion. The rift between magic and might widens, and the King of Hind, Karan Singh, arrives with his formidable forces to aid Ajooba. Dara Singh portrays the Hind king, lending a noble strength to the coalition in a climactic battle that unfolds with flying magical steeds, enchanted swords, and a tapestry of otherworldly phenomena.

In the end, the war draws together the most important players—the masked hero, his royal allies, and the lovers who stand at the edge of two worlds. The fight against Vazir’s demonic legions becomes a sprawling panorama of battles that defy gravity and reason, a clash that tests courage, loyalty, and the fate of Baharistan itself. And as the smoke clears, a final revelation unfolds: the true identity of Ajooba, the Miracle, is laid bare, tying destiny, family, and honor into a single, enduring legend.
