Air Panic 2002

On approach to Denver, Flight 1055 crashes into a skyscraper after the pilots lose control. This marks the third in a string of similar incidents. FAA investigator Neil McCabe, Rodney Rowland, discovers that all of the incriminated planes were equipped with a pioneering flight-control chip from Oxcellis, and he suspects a hacker who has exploited a vulnerability in Oxcellis’ mainframe computer, enabling a remote takeover of every plane that uses their flight management system.

Hoping to thwart another disaster, Rowland blocks impending flights that rely on Oxcellis gear. His attention lands on Flight 672, scheduled to travel from Milwaukee to Washington, DC on Independence Day. He travels to its departure airport, determined to intercept what he fears might become the next catastrophe. As he is about to embark, the terrorist seizes control of the aircraft and forces it to take off. With the help of an airport security guard and Josie, Kristanna Loken Rowland manages to reach the plane as it races down the runway and climbs aboard just before it becomes airborne.

Due to further interference, both Flight 672 pilots soon find themselves unable to operate. Rowland and Josie must team up in a desperate effort to regain control of the plane and save its diverse cast of passengers. Among them are Bernadette, Barbara Carrera, a famous TV actress; Walter, John Bishop, a businessman with a fear of flying; Zoe, Boti Bliss, who is afflicted with brittle bone disease; Philip, Gulshan Grover, a self-absorbed physician traveling with his family; and Ray, Billy ‘Sly’ Williams, who has an unresolved personal issue with the flight’s attendant, Maxine.

On the ground, the FAA team led by Keller, Tucker Smallwood, closes in on the terrorist, who calls himself Cain and plans to crash the plane into the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, potentially wiping out a large swath of the region. The pursuit pits meticulous investigation against high-stakes danger as the clock ticks, forcing both the in-air and on-ground teams to improvise under extreme pressure to prevent catastrophe. The story intertwines the tense battle for control inside Flight 672 with the relentless hunt on the ground, highlighting the courage and resolve of those who refuse to let a single failed system derail a plan to protect countless lives.
