What Is Aegis About?
The premise of Aegis without spoilers.
The Aegis‑class escort Isokaze departs on a routine training exercise with a Fleet Training Group platoon aboard. Once at sea, the trainees reveal themselves as terrorist stowaways, kill the captain, dump the crew overboard and seize the ship, which holds a secret biological weapon they threaten to use on Tokyo. Only Sengoko, an NCO played by Hiroyuki Sanada, stays to stop them in a high‑octane clash that feels like Top Gun meets Die Hard.
