Six ten‑minute video segments, created for Channel 4 as the second part of the unfinished ‘A TV Dante’ series commissioned by Peter Greenaway and Tom Philips in 1989, were never broadcast. Ruiz’s interpretation of Cantos 9‑14 links his earlier depictions of hell in Mémoire des apparences (Life is a Dream, 1986) and La Chouette aveugle (1987) with his later Chilean essay series Cofradandes (2002).
