Kaoru Amane, Erika Sawajiri, lives with Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a condition that forbids direct sunlight. She spends her days in shade and her nights awake, turning to music as a lifeline. Each night she sets up on the sidewalk near a busy station, strumming her guitar and singing for passersby, turning the city’s quiet hours into a stage for her voice. Through her bedroom window, she notices a high school boy with a surfboard who, with his friends, makes a ritual of the ocean every morning before the sun grows strong. One evening, she summons the courage to introduce herself to the mysterious boy without revealing her illness, and he answers with his own name: Kōji Fujishiro, Takayuki Yamada.
