A biography of Danish actor‑comedian Dirch Passer, played by Nikolaj Lie Kaas. Set in the seductive 1960s, the film traces his rapid rise and ensuing loneliness. He wrestles with the desire for critical respect versus audience appeal, damaging his friendship with stage partner Kjeld Petersen (Lars Ranthe). When he stages Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, the crowd laughs at his first line, turning his Lennie into a running joke that reflects his own life.
