Takemichi Hanagaki, Yuuki Shin, a 26-year-old freeter, learns that his middle school ex-girlfriend Hinata Tachibana Azumi Waki and her younger brother Naoto Tachibana Ryota Osaka have been killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang, also known as Toman. The news shakes him, and fate takes a sharper turn when a brutal push sends Takemichi crashing in front of a passing train, instantly propelling him back in time by twelve years to the year 2005. In this younger world, Takemichi encounters Naoto again and reveals the exact date of Hinata’s death. When the two men clasp hands, a strange jolt pulls Takemichi back to the present, creating a time paradox where Naoto survives and grows into a detective.
