Set in Indonesia during 1988, the story follows the national archery team as they prepare for the Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Due to a lack of qualified coaching for the women’s division, the team recruits Donald Pandiangan, a man known as the “Indonesian Robin Hood.” Having been forced to withdraw from the 1980 Moscow Olympics for political reasons, Donald has spent years distancing himself from the world of sports and archery.
To complete the squad, three elite female athletes are selected: Nurfitriyana Saiman, Lilies Handayani, and Kusuma Wardhani. These women, collectively referred to as the Srikandi, must navigate their own personal struggles while training for the world stage.
