The title Blue Christmas is a nod to Yona’s childhood “Blue Moment,” an oil painting of a blue‑hued winter landscape that sparked daydreams of elves, fairies, and shooting stars. The Vantaa Entertainment Orchestra—assembled exclusively for this project and driven by their own excitement—brings a relaxed, adventurous energy that marries pop and classical kinestically. Janne Rönnbäck, VVO’s Executive Director, recalls how the orchestra had long been seeking a non‑religious holiday show, and when Yona offered the idea, the collaboration seemed inevitable. Yona, a singer‑songwriter who calls Jyväskylä home, pours full presence and surprising dedication into every performance. She has already released her debut solo album, Pilvet liikkuu minä en, in 2010 and is currently crafting her tenth.
