Concert Film

Yona – Blue Christmas: Experience a quiet, luminous holiday concert like no other. In this film, Yona joins the Vantaa Entertainment Orchestra for an atmospheric evening that defies the usual carol‑filled menu. Instead of standard Christmas hymns, the stage welcomes the timeless “Ave Maria” from the Snowman animation, the trendy “Avaruus,” and Yona’s own tracks re‑imagined in sweeping new arrangements. Audiences also taste the artist’s unreleased, winter‑warm compositions, all presented in a slow‑paced setting that invites guests to recharge and find self‑compassion and peace—whether or not they’re seasoned Christmas fans. The title Blue Christmas is a nod to Yona’s childhood “Blue Moment,” an oil painting of a blue‑hued winter landscape that sparked daydreams of elves, fairies, and shooting stars. That memory now shapes a concert that feels both personal and universally welcoming. The Vantaa Entertainment Orchestra—assembled exclusively for this project and driven by their own excitement—brings a relaxed, adventurous energy that marries pop and classical kinestically. Janne Rönnbäck, VVO’s Executive Director, recalls how the orchestra had long been seeking a non‑religious holiday show, and when Yona offered the idea, the collaboration seemed inevitable. Yona, a singer‑songwriter who calls Jyväskylä home, pours full presence and surprising dedication into every performance. She has already released her debut solo album, Pilvet liikkuu minä en, in 2010 and is currently crafting her tenth. This film captures her infectious positivity and artistry, offering a magical, introspective holiday moment for everyone. Tickets are available through the Music Centre’s Asinsilta; arrive alone or with friends and let the Music Hall’s supportive energies envelop you.
