Affleck stated, “We wanted to institute fairness and address some of the real issues that are present and urgent for our business.” He explained that the deal is fundamental to the philosophy behind Artists Equity and that every one of the 1,200 individuals who worked on the film is eligible for a bonus.

The bonuses will be calculated based on the film’s viewership performance during its first 90 days on Netflix. The agreement pre-defines metrics, ensuring that the more the film is watched, the larger the financial reward for the crew. Affleck praised Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos for understanding the value of artists and being open to this new compensation structure.
