Steven Weber

Steven Robert Weber (born March 4, 1961) is an American actor and comedian whose career spans over four decades. Born in Queens, New York, he grew up in a family entrenched in show business—his mother Fran was a nightclub singer and his father Stuart managed Borscott Belt comedians, giving him early exposure to performance arts. After graduating from the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan in 1979, Weber earned a BFA from SUNY Purchase, where he honed his craft before joining the Mirror Repertory Company and sharing the stage with legends such as Geraldine Page. His breakout television role came as the charming yet bumbling airline pilot Brian Hackett on the hit sitcom Wings, a part that cemented his place in popular culture and showcased his comedic timing. Beyond sitcoms, Weber displayed dramatic range in projects like the TV miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining, where he portrayed the terrifying Jack Torrance, and the gritty war film Hamburger Hill (1987). He also ventured into voice work, lending his distinctive voice to Charlie B. Barkin in All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series and narrating Stephen King's It for audiobooks. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s Weber continued to diversify, starring in Broadway productions such as The Real Thing and taking over the role of Leo Bloom in The Producers, while also making notable television appearances on series like Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, NCIS: New Orleans, and Chicago Med, where he plays Dr. Dean Archer. His personal life includes marriages to actress Finn Carter (1985–1992) and journalist Juliette Hohnen (1995–2013), with whom he shares two sons, reflecting a balance of a prolific professional journey and family commitments.
