Priyanshu Painyuli

Priyanshu Painyuli (born 29 August 1988) is an Indian actor known for his versatile performances in Hindi cinema and international productions. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a model and assistant director, gaining behind‑the‑scenes experience before transitioning to acting. His on‑screen debut came with Manuja Tyagi’s romantic drama Love At First Sight, which opened the door to larger projects and caught the attention of filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, who cast him in the sequel Rock On 2. The breakthrough role arrived in 2018 when Vikramaditya Motwane cast him as the titular vigilante in Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, a performance that earned critical praise and established him as a promising talent in the industry. Following the success of the superhero film, Priyanshu diversified his portfolio with roles in the comedy High Jack, the drama Once Again, and the Netflix‑backed entrepreneurial satire Upstarts, where he portrayed the ambitious character Kapil. In 2020 he crossed over to Hollywood, playing a Bangladeshi crime lord in Sam Hargrave’s high‑octane action film Extraction, sharing screen time with Chris Hemsworth and gaining global exposure. The same year he joined the popular Amazon Prime Video crime series Mirzapur, embodying the gritty fixer Robin (Radhesyam) across its second and third seasons, a role that solidified his reputation as a compelling antagonist. He also starred opposite Taapsee Pannu in the inspirational sports drama Rashmi Rocket, further demonstrating his range. Off‑screen, Priyanshu married his longtime partner Vandana Joshi on 26 November 2020 in Dehradun after seven years of dating, and the couple continues to keep their personal life relatively private.
