Nino Porzio

Antonino 'Nino' Porzio, born 4 June 1972 in Palermo, Italy, is an Italian singer and actor whose career spans more than two decades across Europe. From an early age he showed a passion for performance, moving with his family to Germany in the late 1970s where he balanced work in his father’s grocery store with vocal and acting lessons. Between 1983 and 1989 he studied drums, formed his first band, and played at street festivals, laying the rhythmic foundation for his later pop and Canzone Napoletana recordings. Porzio launched his solo singing career in the early 1990s, touring Germany and other European venues, and in 1995 released his debut album Rosa, which garnered modest critical attention. Three years later he followed with Mille Pazzie, further establishing his presence in the Italian‑German music scene. The turn of the millennium saw him compete in Rome’s “Voci Nuove Per La Discografia”, and in 2009 he issued the single Ti Amo, a prelude to a prolific period of releases. In 2011 he celebrated the legacy of Lucio Dalla with the album Caruso and presented Made in Italy, an eight‑track collection of classic Italian covers that showcased his versatile vocal style. His fifth studio album, Brividi nel cuore (2014), was recorded live and highlighted his emotive delivery, while a 2016 Greatest Hits compilation summarized his musical achievements up to that point. Parallel to his recording work, Porzio built a solid acting résumé, appearing in German television series such as Alarm für Cobra 11 and Tatort, as well as films like Il Traditore (2019) and Volt (2016). From 2016 to 2018 he performed regularly at Düsseldorf’s Schauspielhaus Theater, and he continues to appear in music videos and commercials, demonstrating a dynamic blend of artistic talents that bridges Italian tradition and contemporary pop culture.
