Mia Gypsy Mello da Silva Goth, better known as Mia Goth, is an English actress who began her career in the spotlight as a model and then transitioned into acting. Her acting journey began with the renowned erotic art film 'Nymphomaniac' in 2013. She gained worldwide recognition for her performances in titles such as 'The Survivalist' (2015), 'High Life' (2018), 'Suspiria' (2018), and 'Emma' (2020). Notably, her roles in the 'X film series' from 2022-2024 catapulted her career, establishing her as a prominent 'scream queen'. Mia Goth was born on 25 October 1993. Goth is of mixed Brazilian, Canadian, and Jewish-American heritage, with her mother being Brazilian and her father being Canadian.

In her early days, Goth endured a somewhat nomadic lifestyle. Her family moved to Brazil when she was merely two weeks old, later returning to the UK when she was five years old. A brief relocation to Canada occurred when Goth was ten, during which she attended nine different schools within a year. Goth states that living with her father during this period was particularly challenging. Goth and her mother eventually settled down in Southeast London, where she attended Sydenham School. Goth was discovered at the young age of 14 by fashion photographer Gemma Booth at the Underage Festival in London. Her robust modeling career involved campaigns for Miu Miu and Prada, and appearances in Vogue, W, Love, Dazed, and more. Transitioning into acting at 16, she has since accumulated a diverse portfolio of roles in various genres. Notable performances include her dual roles in Ti West's critically acclaimed slasher film 'X', which required a transformation through prosthetic makeup, a performance highly praised by critics.
