Melvin Gregg (born September 22, 1988) is an American actor who first captured the internet’s attention through his wildly popular comedy sketches on the short‑form platform Vine, where he amassed over seven million followers in just three years, making him one of the top‑100 personalities on the service. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Gregg grew up as one of seven children—six sisters and a brother—under the guidance of his parents Constance Gregg and Melvin Vaughan, and after graduating from I.C. Norcom High School he briefly studied marketing at Old Dominion University before deciding to pursue a career in acting and relocating to Los Angeles in 2011. His early on‑screen experience came with the web series Whatever, The Series, which earned him union eligibility and opened the door to more traditional television and film work. Following Vine’s decline in 2015, Gregg successfully transitioned to mainstream media, landing a breakout role as DeMarcus Tillman in Netflix’s cult‑favorite mockumentary American Vandal, a performance praised by Film School Rejects and likened to a young Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel‑Air.
