Matthew Joseph Servitto (born April 7, 1965) in Teaneck, New Jersey and raised in Detroit, Michigan, is an American actor whose career spans over three decades. A graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School with a BFA, he honed his craft on stage before transitioning to screen work in the late 1980s. Servitto first gained widespread attention portraying Special Agent Dwight Harris on HBO’s landmark crime drama The Sopranos, delivering a performance that balanced procedural authority with subtle vulnerability. He continued to build a diverse résumé with roles such as Trask Bodine on the soap opera All My Children (1989–1990), Deputy Brock Lotus on the gritty Cinemax series Banshee, and Representative Donald Donatello on Showtime’s political thriller Brotherhood (2006–2008). His film credits include a memorable turn as Chipmunk in Two Family House (2000) and a supporting part as Eddie in the romantic comedy Hitch (2005). In addition to live‑action work, Servitto lent his voice to the 2002 video game Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, demonstrating versatility across media. Beyond acting, Servitto explored directing during the COVID‑19 pandemic, creating and starring in the horror‑Western A Town Called Purgatory, which premiered at film festivals in 2024. He has also appeared in guest spots on series such as Sex and the City, Blue Bloods, and The Blacklist, and currently portrays Satan on Adult Swim’s Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell. Married to actress Anne Lauterbach since 2001, the couple shares three children.
