Masaki Suda

Masaki Suda, born Taishō Sugō on February 21, 1993 in Minoh, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, is a celebrated Japanese actor and singer who has become one of the most versatile talents of his generation. His breakthrough came in 2009 when he was cast as the charismatic half‑masked hero in the tokusatsu series Kamen Rider W, a role that introduced him to a wide television audience and opened the door to a prolific film career. Over the next decade he displayed an extraordinary range, portraying a teenage rebel in The Backwater, a charismatic antagonist in Assassination Classroom as Karma Akabane, and the conflicted protagonist in the award‑winning drama Wilderness, for which he received the Japan Academy Film Prize for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. In addition to his acting achievements, Suda launched a successful music career in 2017, signing with Epic Records Japan and releasing the well‑received albums Play and Love, as well as several chart‑topping singles that blend pop and rock influences. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Aimyon, Huwie Ishizaki, and Kenshi Yonezu, showcasing his ability to cross artistic boundaries. Suda’s personal life has also attracted public interest; he married fellow actress Nana Komatsu in November 2021 after dating since 2019, and the couple welcomed their first child in March 2024. Known for his close friendships with actors Shun Oguri, Takayuki Yamada, Taiga Nakano, Fumi Nikaido, and Kento Yamazaki, he remains a central figure in contemporary Japanese entertainment. Beyond the screen and stage, Suda continues to expand his artistic repertoire, taking on challenging roles, contributing to soundtracks, and influencing a new generation of performers.
