What's After the Movie
Kevin Corrigan, (born March 27, 1969) is an American character actor who has featured prominently in the landscape of independent films and television since the 1990s. He made his mark in the sitcom Grounded for Life (2001–2005) as Uncle Eddie, and had various supporting roles in movies such as Goodfellas (1990), The Departed (2006), Superbad (2007), and co-starring roles in Big Fan (2009) and Results (2015). Twice nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male, Corrigan's exceptional performances showcase his artistic calibre. Born and raised in the Bronx borough of New York City, he pursued his studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and kick-started his acting debut in 1989 with Lost Angels, continuing to solidify his influence in the acting world. During the independent film boom of the 1990s, he exhibited tremendous versatility portraying a series of quirky, unconventional characters in films and also made appearances in a few music videos such as "Get Me" by Dinosaur Jr. in 1993.
Corrigan achieved fame for his portrayal of the role Eddie Finnerty, a slacker personality in Grounded for Life, a sitcom that ran for five seasons. After completing the series, he shifted his focus back to smaller film projects, with the notable exception of working in Martin Scorsese's The Departed as the drug-dealing cousin of Leonardo DiCaprio's character. Post the film's success, opportunities to act in high-profile films increased, earning roles in movies like Superbad, Pineapple Express, American Gangster and much more. His acting brilliance in the critically acclaimed independent film Big Fan, and the success of Results in 2015, co-starring with Guy Pearce, highlights his exceptional acting trajectory.
