Kate Dickie

Kate Dickie is a renowned Scottish actress with a career that spans across television series, stage plays, and films. She was born in 1971 and had her early life in East Kilbride, Scotland, spending part of her childhood in different parts of Scotland, due to frequent family moves. From an early age, she was supported by her parents to pursue her passion for acting, despite coming from a working-class family. Her acting desire led her to attend drama classes, helping her overcome insecurities and adapt to new people and surroundings. Following her schooling, she attended college in Kirkcaldy, studying drama. In 1990, she entered the acclaimed Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and made the decision to stay in Glasgow.

Kate's breakthrough came in 2000 in the BBC Scotland/Raindog series Tinsel Town. Her rapid ascent continued with her film debut Red Road, where her performance alongside co-star Tony Curran was highly praised. Kate's other notable roles include portraying Lysa Arryn in the HBO series Game of Thrones, and an array of film appearances such as Prometheus, Filth, The Witch, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. She is a staunch supporter of Solar Bear, a theatre company renowned for collaborations with the deaf community, through her role of patron.
