Geoff Dolan

Geoffrey Patrick Dolan, known professionally as Geoff Dolan, was born on 29 December 1964 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand, and grew up in the working‑class suburb of Wainuiomata. From a young age he displayed a flair for performance, participating in school plays and local community events, which eventually led him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. His first on‑screen appearance came in 1987 with the New Zealand television series Gloss, where he played Neil Palmer, marking the start of a prolific career that would span over three decades. Dolan’s early film work included a gritty role as a Machine Gunner in Chunuk Bair (1992) and a memorable turn as the Maitre D in the TV movie Typhon’s People (1993). Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s he built a reputation as a reliable character actor, appearing in a range of New Zealand productions such as Lawless and its sequels, In My Father’s Den (2004), and the comedy Sione’s Wedding (2006). In addition to his live‑action work, Geoff Dolan has become a renowned voice actor, lending his distinctive timbre to numerous Power Rangers series, where he voiced iconic villains such as Koragg the Knight Wolf, Dai Shi, and Omni across Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, S.P.D., Mystic Force, and later Beast Morphers and Dino Fury. His vocal talent extends to commercial advertising, where his voice can be heard on many New Zealand television spots, contributing to his reputation as a popular corporate entertainer and singer. Dolan’s most recognizable recent on‑screen role is the recurring character Derrick/Thor in the cult‑favorite series The Almighty Johnsons (2011‑2013), a performance that solidified his status in contemporary New Zealand pop culture.
